Stops shuffles and fidgets
Using the qball mic for presentations means every voice is heard. Plus it has the added benefit of stopping the shuffles and fidgets, since the mic cuts off when they move too much.
Awesome classroom tool!
I got this for my 1st grade classroom through Donors choose.org. It has been AWESOME! While it’s a bit pricey, the foam exterior protects the microphone from damage while being dropped, tossed, rolled, etc. by my enthusiastic young students. The automatic turn off feature saves the charge and the volume control is very handy. I was concerned that the kids would pick away at the foam exterior, but that hasn’t been the case. Best of all, it’s helped enforce the idea of students waiting their turn to speak and had given the shyest among them a voice that we can all hear. The sound quality is very good, even with my lousy classroom speakers. I highly recommend this tool for the classroom.
Too Fun
As a teacher that has soft spoken and shy kiddos, this has increased engagement and willingness to share ideas in whole group collaborative discussion. They love that they can throw it to the next student.
Drastic change in participation
Before using the Qball I was always seeing the same two or three students participate in classroom discussion. It was extremely difficult to coax my quiet and shy students to put themselves out there and answer a question. After receiving the Qball I noticed a drastic change in participation. Students are excited about sharing ideas and want to make comments and answer questions using the Qball. This product has really brought our discussions and classroom to life!
This is amazing technology!
This is amazing technology! Our classroom is 1:1 with Ipads and the Qball adds to the fun of participation. The age of my students really tests the capabilities of the Qball and it comes through with flying colors! It performs way beyond my expectations. There are some exceptional troubleshooting and proactive problem-solving features in regards to actual use in the classroom. There are no “thumping” noises when thrown, or when it hits the ground. The Qball is well built like the engineers gave it to young children to discover all the ways they could break it…then they made it so it cannot be broken. Kudos to a great product! Well worth the cost-this will last!
Great Product!
I would highly suggest this! Even my quietest kids in my class are now talking! This product gives everyone a voice. I had an ordering issue with this product being out of stock in Amazon and the company was quick to help me. I love their customer service and help as well!
Great for a high school classroom
Originally, I could not get this mic to work, there was a delay and I was getting ridiculous feedback. I contacted support and they told me to plug it directly into my speakers and it works perfectly. I have used it daily since then and my high schoolers are fans of it.
Fun
Fun product that I use with my students. They enjoy it. The only thing keeping it from 5-star is the way it cuts out. It has to be held just right to speak into and cuts in and out if you don’t.
Too Expensive for it’s job
I was waiting for two years to have it in low price especially for teachers who use it in education with students but unfortinately still expensive too expensive) =
My students love it
My students love it when I pull out the Qball. Last year, I had a wireless microphone I could pass around to students, but students hated it. This year, I have the Qball. They like hearing their voice amplified and are not scared by its appearance. This means greater student participation and more meaningful discussions.
Students speak loud and proud
As soon as that Qball gets plugged in EVERYONE sits up a little bit straighter and they are ready. They start giggling and can’t wait for their turn. Once they catch the Qball, they speak loud and proud and everyone can hear them. It is a game changer, especially with your quietest, shyest students.
LOVE THIS MIC
OK, just remember that you need to get speakers with this, this product is ONLY the microphone.
I got two of these for my classroom, and they are AWESOME. Be sure to charge them before using, and between classes when possible (or overnight if you’re using them the next day, it takes a bit). I had some students test them out (not enough in the room right now due to the pandemic), and they had fun! Some of them dropped it, and it didn’t damage the mic at all. The customer service was great too, since I had forgotten to get speakers with it.
My students love the Qball
My student loved the Qball since the first day. Mostly, they fed from my excitement prior to its arrival! Everyone is engaged, wanting to participate in discussions. They all remind me that we can now use the Qball or ask if we can use the ball. A student also mentioned that class discussions was “100% funner!” I love having my Qball and would love to share this great tool with other teachers in my building.
No more excuses of I did not hear!
Saw Qball on an advertisement, and did not think twice about spending my own money to purchases for my middle school science classroom. I have a room with two fans that are constant, until 15 minutes after school ends. This background noise made it very difficult to hear students in the classroom along with the fact that students are very soft spoken. Has made a HUGE difference in attention level, no more excuses of I did not hear. Students love to toss the ball around and some actively seek to answer so they can do the tossing and catching. Finally, on a personal note, I have extreme voice fatigue. I use the ball constantly during instruction so I do not have to raise my voice and everyone in the room can hear me!
Delay when talking…cuts out at about 50 ft away from the receiver
Not great, would go with another product.
Owner Response:
We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Qball. Qball is rated to go up to 75ft from the receiver. In rare cases, a shorter range may be due to excessive wifi interference. This can happen in dense office buildings where each floor has multiple wifi connections.
